The salmon processing plant Salten N950 in Sørarnøy, Norway is being fraudulently used by people selling fish and other seafoods which does not exist. CEO Johan-Edvard Andreassen wishes to issue a warning about this situation.
Salten N950 is a processing plant which is a part of the Salten Aqua group. The plant has been grossly exploited since this summer.
– Our website has been copied, our logo is being used and there have been set up fake e-mail addresses with ”Salten N950” as a part of the address. The fraud starts when the swindlers have an e-mail dialogue with who they think is a Norwegian fish exporter.
– Many people have paid large sums of money in advance without receiving any fish. The account numbers change all the time, as do the e-mail addresses and the servers, Andreassen says.
The police are so far powerless to do anything. As soon as one website is closed down, a new one opens from a different part of the world.
– We are a salmon processing plant and we do not sell fish or any other sorts of seafood at all. Should anyone come into contact with someone using the ”Salten N950” name in conjunction with any form of sale whatsoever it is guaranteed a fraud, Andreassen says.
Salten N950 does not have its own website. All activities from the side of the company is via Salten Aquas website www.saltenaqua.no.
