GlobalGAP – Food security
The Salten Aqua group’s salmon production was in January 2014 certified in accordance with the GlobalGAP standard (Global Good Agricultural Practices).
Salten Aqua is proud and pleased to be able to document the high standards met by its production.
The work on systemising and improving all routines in the production, which necessary to meet the stringent GlobalGAP requirements, has taken about 2 years. The certification of Salten Aqua’s aquaculture production in accordance with the GlobalGAP standard was carried out by Det Norske Veritas AS.
GlobalGAP is a standard that encompasses all aspects of the production. Broodstock, roe, edible fish, slaughter, processing, sales, feed and other suppliers. The standard ensures food safety, minimal environmental impact, and adherence to good standards of animal welfare and HSE.
Salten Aqua has the strategy of using international management systems in all key areas of the food production. This is in order to safeguard the environment and ensure sustainable aquaculture. In this work, the GlobalGAP certification is important.
The certification is also important for our customers who set very high standards for quality and documentation.
